Steph scott
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
BPsychSc (Hons), Psych (Clin), MAPS
As a clinical psychologist, Steph supports adults with a range of challenges and life experiences. She has a special interest in OCD, anxiety and mood, parent-infant attachment and general adjustment in the early years of parenthood. In addition to her private practice work, she provides antenatal and postnatal support through Gidget Foundation, and she is a trained Circle of Security Facilitator, and has worked as a clinician within OCD research programs.
She takes a warm, down-to-earth and collaborative approach with clients. She aims to offer encouragement, curiosity and compassion, as well as a different perspective when helpful.
In addition to her psychology background, Steph is a trained yoga and mindfulness teacher, has 10+ years experience in business, design and research, and is a mother of two young daughters. Naturally, this background (personal and professional) influences her style and approach as a therapist as well.
Steph takes an integrated approach to her work depending on client presentation, needs and preferences. Her approach is attachment based and trauma informed. She is trained in a range of therapeutic models, and tends to draw upon the following approaches in her work with clients:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
