Tarryn is a Couples and Relationship Therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families seeking support through life's relational challenges.
She is passionate about helping people strengthen their connections, improve communication, and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Tarryn has extensive experience supporting couples navigating relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, conflict, separation, and co-parenting arrangements. She works collaboratively with clients to identify and understand unhelpful patterns of communication, negative relationship cycles, unresolved hurts, and longstanding resentments that may be impacting their relationships.
In addition to relationship counselling, Tarryn provides pre-marital counselling for couples wanting to build a strong foundation for their future together. She is particularly passionate about helping clients develop secure emotional connections, repair trust, and create meaningful and lasting change within their relationships.
Clients describe Tarryn as warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth, whilst also supporting the accountability needed for meaningful growth and change. Her approach is collaborative, respectful, and trauma-informed, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and strengthen their relationships.
Therapeutic Approach
Tarryn works from an integrative, strengths-based, and solution-focused framework, drawing on evidence-based approaches tailored to the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family.
Her clinical work is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Practice, and trauma-informed approaches.
She has also undertaken extensive professional development in parent-infant mental health, grief and loss, mental health and wellbeing, self-harm, family trauma, and working safely with children and families experiencing complex life challenges.
Tarryn believes that meaningful change occurs within safe, supportive relationships and is committed to helping clients build stronger connections, navigate life's challenges, and move towards healthier and more satisfying relationships.
Qualifications & Professional Training
Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), including postgraduate studies in Children and Families
Diploma of Clinical Counselling
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFT)
Gottman Method Relationship Counselling (Level 1 & 2), including Treating Affairs and Trauma
Certificate in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples, Institute of Family Therapy, London
Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and COS Intensive 20-Week Program
Certified Facilitator of 1-2-3 Magic, Parenting Made Easier, and Bringing Up Great Kids
